On this day in 1685, a fictional version of this guy was an asshole to Peter Blood, who then told him he was going to die. It was great. You should read about it.

It’s a favourite!:)
As it should be! :)
I love Rafael Sabatini (most excellent name too). My favourite is St. Martins Summer. Such swashbuckling, much romance!
It’s funny, St. Martin’s Summer is actually one of my least favorites. It’s been a while, but I think the bad guys were more evil than made sense to me?
One of my favorite opening lines from literature is from Scaramouche. Sabatini is great. And, by the way, welcome back – missed your posts recently!
I think that’s actually how I originally got into Sabatini–Scaramouche was quoted in another book and I looked it up. Such a great line.
And thanks! It’s been a weird summer for me, but my life is a little more on track now, so hopefully more posts are coming soon.
