This is not a drill.
The Kickstarter ends in 15 days, so check it out soon. And if you’re not sure why I’m so excited, go read my review of the book.

But what if it’s bad? That will break my heart.
I want to know more about the script, for sure, but I sort of don’t even care if it’s bad.
This warms my heart–other people who care about the book! It’s a pretty heartbreakingly good book, so we’ll do our best to translate that to film, and not to mess it up.
It won’t be bad! This young woman has amazing talent!
Seeing as the woman working on it has spent 3 years on the project already, including writing and rewriting and editing the screenplay throughout those years, and is one of those people who is fierce about when movies ‘ruin’ books….I’d say you’re likely to enjoy it!
And, if you want to help it be ‘good’…she’s putting together a great proof-of-concept trailer so that the eventual mini series can get funded in a manner to enable an awesome rendition of this precious book…the kickstarter for this POC trailer is one way to help. Then let the director know how much the book means to you and offer to volunteer. YAY. Isn’t it great when you meet someone who knows of (and loves) this book!? I love the internet!
This is super exciting! They have a long way to go so we have to spread the word.
Super Fun. I had this on my kindle but hadn’t read it. I just finished it. I knew a Sara Lee type person once, but her name was Glenda. She’s sort of a combination of Audrey Hepburn, Mother Teresa, Pollyanna, with a touch of Glinda, the good witch.
Thanks for posting this, at the very least it gave me a memorable read. And, I really hope this series gets made. I don’t do facebook, but I’ll post it in a few places online.
