Piranesi’s Carceri:Kindle screensavers
January 13, 2009I’ve made myself a Kindle screensaver out of Piranesi’s Carceri d’Invenzione — etchings of imaginary prisons — and I thought I might as well share them. I think they’re pretty awesome, myself.

by Bob July 5, 2010 at 9:27 amI suspect Escher was influenced by Piranesi. I like Piranesi better, partially on a purely aesthetic level, and partially because Escher’s work seems to be more about cleverness where Piranesi’s is more about atmosphere.
