Piranesi’s Carceri:Kindle screensavers

I’ve made myself a Kindle screensaver out of Piranesi’s Carceri d’Invenzione — etchings of imaginary prisons — and I thought I might as well share them. I think they’re pretty awesome, myself.

ETA: I am told these work equally well for the nook.

  2. Thanks very much for the screen savers!! Have you looked at Echer’s stuff? Also very good.


    • I suspect Escher was influenced by Piranesi. I like Piranesi better, partially on a purely aesthetic level, and partially because Escher’s work seems to be more about cleverness where Piranesi’s is more about atmosphere.
